These terms cover your use of hotcockergamefowl.com and the HOTCOCKER membership ("HOTCOCKER", "we", "us"). By creating an account or buying a membership, you agree to them.

The service

HOTCOCKER is an educational podcast and library about raising, breeding and caring for heritage gamefowl and other poultry. Content is general information, not veterinary or legal advice. Always follow your local laws and consult a veterinarian about your birds' health.

HOTCOCKER does not promote, support or provide information for animal fighting or any other illegal activity, and members may not use the service for that purpose.

Heritage Archive

The Heritage Archive preserves public-domain books on the history of gamefowl, published between 1696 and 1928, for historical and educational purposes only. These works reflect the practices and attitudes of their time and are not instructions or advice. Cockfighting is illegal in all 50 U.S. states, and HOTCOCKER does not promote, support or provide guidance for animal fighting. Chapters of fighting instruction are left out of the member editions.

Archive books: eBooks and printed copies

Archive books are sold as a member-edition PDF (eBook) or as a printed copy. An eBook can be downloaded from My account right after payment. Printed copies are printed and bound to order by HOTCOCKER and mailed by USPS to U.S. addresses, usually within 7–10 business days; a printed copy includes the eBook. Because these are reproductions of old scans, marks, stains and worn type from the original printing are part of the book. If a printed copy arrives damaged or a file won't open, contact us within 30 days and we'll replace it or refund you. Books are for personal use and may not be copied or resold.

Accounts

You must be 18 or older to create an account. Keep your password private; you're responsible for activity on your account. One membership is for one person — please don't share your login.

Free trial and paid memberships

New accounts receive 30 days of free access with no payment details required. Paid memberships are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from My account; access continues to the end of the period you've paid for. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.

Giving back

A portion of membership proceeds is donated to support TGBA. The amount and timing of donations are at our discretion.

Content and conduct

All episodes, transcripts, eBooks and e-letters are owned by HOTCOCKER or its licensors and are for your personal use. Don't copy, resell or redistribute them. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
